The pacy center-back joins Reims on loan until the end of the season.
The 24-year old Ghanaian International re-joined Schalke on loan from Chelsea last year and Schalke have confirmed they've cut short Abdul Rahman Baba's loan deal, with the left-back joining Ligue 1 side Reims.
The former Dreams FC defender is expected to make his debut on Saturday when Reims host Olymoique Marseille.
The General Director of French Ligue 1 side Stade Reims, Mathieu Lacour is confident that Ghana international Abdul Rahman Baba will be the star in his team.
Lacour stressed that getting a player from Chelsea is not easy and Baba has already showed that he is a top player who can be the fulcrum of Reims.
“He can be a top player, have played the biggest competitions and show elegance: this is clearly the case of Abdul Rahman Baba” Lacour told his club’s official website.
“Beyond the impressive pedigree of Baba, I do not even need to mention, I was charmed by his simplicity and willingness to blend quickly into the club,”
“We must also salute the attitude of the Chelsea club which made this loan possible. The deal is win-win for everyone: for us it was to compensate for the injury of Ghislain Konan, for him is to get playing time and a chance to play at the AFCON at the end of the season,” he added.
