Accra Hearts of Oak unveiled the former Charlton Athletic player as their new head coach and also sporting director and according to Hearts of Oak’s  supporters chief of the Ashanti region the Phonians now have a better coach over rivals Asante Kotoko.

Ishak Tetteh the Ashanti regional Chapters chairman of the Phobians has fueled the Kotoko rivalry by making a controversial comment following the appointment of Kim Grant as the club’s head coach.

Seth Hoffman until now was acting head coach of Hearts of Oak but will now be re- assigned.

“Kim Grant is by far the best coach in Ghana currently per his CV,” Ishak Tetteh said on Kumasi-based Silver FM on Thursday.

When quizzed by the host King Eben to name specific coaches who are inferior to Grant as he claims, Tetteh was quick to target the head coach of sworn rivals Asante Kotoko.

“Even C.K hinself knows that Kim is a better coach than him.” he added.

” No coach in Ghana comes near Kim Grant in terms of quality and qualification. ” he said.

Grant is said to own a UEFA Pro Licence A certificate which puts him rightly ahead of his Ghana counterparts but he knows that winning championship takes more than certification.

Hearts of Oak have won a major trophy since 2009 and Grant is tasked to end this drought by he second year of his three-year contract.
