One out of the four suspects arrested for being involved in the robbery incident that resulted in the shooting and killing of a police officer at Tarkwa last Sunday is a Gospel singer.

Kwaku Mintah, who is believed to be the leader of the gang is a known gospel singer in the Western Region.

This gospel singer is alleged to have shot and killed Lance Corporal Nicholas Duku when he was escorting an Indian businessman.

Police source says, the suspects admitted to carrying out the dreadful operation at the premises of a gold refinery company at Bogoso.

Police investigations indicate that they were ten in number and were lodging in a hotel at Bogoso where they purportedly planned the whole operation.

They have, however, denied stealing GHS900, 000 from the premises of Plant and Plume Refinery Company Ltd as was reported by the police.

The suspects say they rather made away with GHS420, 000, which they shared among themselves.
