Pregnant Students Should Be Allowed To Go To School- Educationist

Renowned counselor and educationist Mr. Daniel Fenyi has advised that access to quality education is a basic constitutional right of every child and so pregnancy should not stop a child from going to school.

Counselor Fenyi made this assertion on the Agona Swedru-based Anuanom FM on Tuesday following a recorded incidence at the Nyakrom Senior High Technical School (Nyastech) where the headmistress sent a third year pregnant student home disallowing her from writing her WASSCE.

Mr. Daniel Fenyi, who is a native of Agona Swedru, advised that headmasters and teachers have no right to send a child home due to pregnancy.

Counselor Fenyi insinuated that children who feel shy and afraid of going to school during pregnancy should make it a point to resume schooling immediately after they give birth.

Counselor Fenyi also thanked the MP for Agona West, Mrs. Cynthia Morrison for her donation of about 1000 mono-desks to SWESBUS, NYASTECH and Nyakrom Siddiq SHS.
