Abdul Gafaru Kasim was sadly shot in the chin and cheek after he had returned from prayers to change his attire to join his colleagues to slaughter cow as a sacrifice to mark the Islamic Eid Al-Adha.
Brother of the late father of the deceased teenage boy, Mohammed Suleman in an interview with Akwadaa Nyame confirmed the sad incident on SilverFM ;
''My boy had finished prayers and had slaughtered cow to mark the annual Muslim festival ..... Gafaru rushed home to change his soaked attire only to return to meet firing of gunshots and brandishing weapons as part of the celebrations by some of the youth''
''The lifeless body of my son was conveyed to Manhyia for autopsy before he was subsequently sent for burial at Tafo Cemetry on the same day''
''We do not know the assailant but the police has arrested a kenkey seller at the area who was reported to have told the shooter to run after his bullet struck Gafaru''
One person was also seriously hit by the shooting and was confirmed fighting for his life at the Emergency Unit of the Manhyia Government Hospital.
