The District Chief Executive for Atwima Kwanwoma District, Nana Okyere –Tawiah Antwi has commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo for his effort to develop and transform the youth through the implementation of a number of flagship programmes such as the Free basic Education, the introduction of Free Senior High School, Nation Builders Corps, Planting for Food and Jobs, youth in Forestry programme and host of others.

Nana Okyere – Tawiah Antwi stated that Atwima Kwanwoma district has also received its fair share of ongoing road construction across the nation, especially the road from Sokoban Apeyoo to Trede Junction which is near completion.

He also said that the road from Kwadaso to Trabuom and Nweneso has also commenced. “All major road networks in various parts of the district are set to commence soon,” he assured.
Nana Okyere- Tawiah Antwi made these disclosures during the 62nd Independence celebration held at Atwima Yabi.

Speaking on the theme for the occasion, “Celebrating Peace and Unity,” he said that it calls for selflessness and devotion from all true meaning Ghanaians if a better and prosperous nation is to be built, else the country will continue to suffer and the citizens will bear the ‘heat’ of the situation’.

“The quest for economic and political advancement of the country would be achieved only when we unit and dedicate all our arsenals towards the attainment of our set goals,” he said.

He also appealed to the indigenes of Atwima Kwanwoma District to see the need to work as a team with focus on developing the district and Ghana as a whole.

In their quest to improving healthcare in the district, Nana Okyere- Tawiah Antwi said, the assembly has constructed a number of health facilities like CHPS compounds to help the indigenes in their health care delivery.

The Atwima Kwanwoma DCE implored on parents to befriend their children and do all they can to channel their resources to their (children) constructive transformation.  He also called on the parents to advise their wards against anti social activities such as the abuse of tramadol and other illicit drugs.
