Bedabuor, a farming community lacks Social amenities such electricity, better roads and KVIPs which are supposed to serve them has been their bane under the leadership of both the NDC and NPP administrations respectively.
Silveronline24.com gathered that the previous NDC government under the Rural Electrification Project first came to install some transformers in the surrounding communities, including Bedabuor when Silver FM Morning Show Host, Nana Kwabena Ampratwum spoke to some of the residents through Silver FM’s reporter, ‘Akroma’.
The people were so much hopeful that the NPP government was going to connect them onto the national grid after winning the 2016 elections but their dreams of enjoying electricity became a mirage.
The plight of the people spreads to an uncompleted CHIP Compound which has been abandoned for over four years and now a safe haven for drug peddlers and other immoral acts. A solar panel which was installed to provide lights on the streets are now serving as mobile phone charging center.
As the people have decided to be citizens and not spectators like President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said in his inaugural speech, they have been able to put up a building block which is expected to serve as teachers’ bungalow from the foundation level to the lentil without any support from either the MP or the DCE Mr. William Darko.
Mr. James Opoku, a resident speaking to ‘Akroma’ said since the transformers were brought no person of authority has ever shown his or her face likewise telling them when they will connect power for them to enjoy electricity which is a basic necessity for every town, village or community in this 21st century.
Sadly the transformers, which were supposed to provide electricity to the people of Bedabour and other communities like Mansaso, Kwamedwaa, Kyenkyentaa have now been left in the open under the mercies of the sun and the torrential rains.
Another resident of Bedabuor who gave her name only as Vivian also added her voice to the clarion call said, it was during the administration of the former DCE, Mr. Stephen Yeboah, that the electricity poles were erected but he did not live to see the light of day as his NDC government led by John Dramani Mahama booted out of power after losing the 2016 elections.
Miss Vivian further went on to recount how they have voted for Mr. Isaac Asiamah on four occasions in 16 years but all they hear from him is his promises each time he visits the Bedabour township. She said they realized that some of the teachers have been coming from a far hence their decision of put up Teachers’ Bungalow.
Akroma after speaking to Vivian discovered that some of the teachers turn up late in classes since they come from places like Nkawie, Mpasatia and some even from Tech and thus makes the school lacking behind the syllabus.
Mr. James Opoku together with Miss Vivian and the rest are humbly pleading to appropriate quarters to come to their aid and not wait for election time before they come again with their empty promises.
