The late Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, a former Vice President in the erstwhile John Mahama administration will be buried at the military cemetery at Burma Camp in Accra, his family has concluded.

Mr. Amissah-Arthur is reported to have collapsed at the Air Force Gym early Friday of 29th of June 2018 and was rushed to the 37 Military Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was 67.

His mortal remains will be laid in state at the foyer of the Accra International Conference centre for filing past by the general public on July 26, 2018, and burial service held on Friday July, 27 after which he will be finally laid to rest.

Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, born April 29, 1951, was an economist, academic and politician who was the fifth Vice-President of Ghana, in office from August 6, 2012, until January 7, 2017, under President John Dramani Mahama.

Previously he was Governor of the Bank of Ghana from 2009 to 2012.

He was sworn in as Vice-President on August 6, 2012, following vetting by the Parliament of Ghana.

Amissah-Arthur was married to Matilda Amissah-Arthur and left behind two children. He was a Christian and known to worship at the Calvary Methodist Church at Adabraka in Accra.
