The new police station, the 149th in the region, was solely funded by Mr. William Nana Addo, a philanthropist and a business mogul, in response to an appeal by the residence to help build the station to beef up security in the community and its surrounding areas.
Commissioning it, COP Ken Yeboah, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander thanked William Nana Addo who is also the Managing Director of Ultimate fashion for his benevolence.
He cautioned officers who will be stationed at the Bomso police station to be professional in executing their duties.
He said “respect is reciprocal, respect the people who live here and they will also accord you with the maximum respect. Do not bully them because of the uniform you are wearing.” warning them to deal with them should he get any information as such.
He stated that, the public and the police are mandated to maintain law and order, hence, the need to always collaborate to help fight against criminal activities in society.
The Police Station donated by Managing Director of Ultimate Fashion, Mr. William Nana Addo, comes at a time when robbery is on the increase in the community.
Students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology who live in hostels in the Bomso Community have often been robbed of their laptops, phones, money and other valuables.
Mr. Addo also handed over two motorbikes to the Ashanti Regional Police Command to help them in their duties.
On his part, the donor said he was motivated by commitment to help eradicate the spate of robbery and criminal occurrences within the area.
