Authorities of  Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly  has closed down +2 Pub & Restaurant, a popular restaurant at Ahodwo in the Ashanti region after several warnings to the Management of the pub to have its premises meet the high standard of hygienic condition.

+2 Pub, which is patronized by residents both far and near mostly on weekends was closed down early hours on Thursday when the management of the pub failed to heed to the warnings of the Metro Environmental Health and Sanitation Department of KMA.

Speaking exclusively to Silver FM’s reporter, Akwadaa Nyame, the Metro Environmental Health Officer, Mr. Don Awantungo said, the environment of the premises do not meet the standard expected, hence their decision to close down the place.

“The area where they prepared their food for public consumption is unhygienic which could have health implications on their customers,” he stressed.

The +2 Pub & Restaurant is said to be owned by Dr. Kwaku Oteng who is the Chief Executive Officer of Angel Group of Companies (AGC).

It would be recalled that on Easter Monday of April 2017, the Food and Drugs Authority suspended the Registration and Advertisement License of Angel Group of Companies and directed them to withdraw one of its Product, Adonko Bitters, from trade and to furnish the FDA with details after pictures of drunken event goers went viral on social media platforms when they organised a mega concert at Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

They were also ordered to pay an administrative charge of GH¢25,000 for failing to comply with FDA’s regulations.

They (AGC) were later asked to resume work after meeting the regulations of FDA.
