Update: Ghana-US military agreement ratified after bouts of walkouts
Parliament approves government’s $2.5 bn Eurobond

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Fomena in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region, Hon Eric Kwaku Kusi, has accused the New Patriotic Party Chairman in the constituency, Kwasi Nti Asamoah for ordering his ‘men’ to destroy food meant for about 500 pupils of Abu Bonsrah Primary school in the Fomena township.

He has also called the District Police Commander for the immediate arrest of the constituency chairman.

According to the DCE , the meal was the first of its kind after a new caterer has signed a contract with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social protection to provide "school feeding" for the School.

The Constituency Chairman is alleged to have ordered his men to storm the school on Wednesday morning to destroy the meal.

The DCE indicated that after the act, the party’s chairman in the area gathered courage to call him (DCE) on phone to notify him of being responsible for the heinous act exhibited by the miscreants.

Speaking with Silver FM’s ‘Omanbapa’ morning show host, Sarfo Kantanka Abdul Malik, alias Prof, the DCE attributed the behavior of the party’s Constituency Chairman to the fact that the School Feeding Programme was not awarded to a native of Fomena.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for the Obuasi East constituency, Dr. Boakye- Yiadom Patrick, speaking with ‘Prof’ debunked the claim that he has awarded the School Feeding Programme to his family and friends, leaving the natives behind.

He said that the contract was signed between the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba.

However the legislator disclosed that the contract was awarded to qualified caterers who are responsible and could fund the project with her own money for a term or two when the government has not released the funds meant for the programme.

When Kwasi Nti Asamoah was called to confirm or deny the allegation levelled against him, he laughed it off and said he could not do such an act when he has two wives and 7 children.

He continued that the perpetrators were old enough to be responsible for their actions.
