The money had been saved for years out of her pure water selling business in her compound in Kpasa in the Nkwanta North district of the Volta Region.
Madam Nyande told local reporters that she chose to hide her daily sales in the hole because she did not trust the banks.
“I started saving the money in the dug hole at home after dubious financial companies absconded with my GH¢4,000.00.”
Madam Nyande advised the public to save their monies in the banks as they appeared to be a better alternative.
She seized the opportunity to appeal to the district assembly and the Electricity Company of Ghana to extend electricity to the area to enable her to continue with her water supply business.
