The security man was found dead near a hardware store on Wednesday morning.
When police visited the scene, the owner of the hardware store Edward Larbi confirmed that the deceased was a security man at his company.
Narrating the incident to journalists, the Divisional Police Commander of the area, ACP Owoahene Agyei, noted that on Wednesday morning, one of the drivers of the hardware store visited the premises of the store and found the security man lying dead.
According to the commander, the body of the deceased was lying prostrate at the back of the store with both hands and legs tied with red rope.
He disclosed: “His face and mouth were also tied to the back of his head with his security uniform and marks of violence were also seen on his shoulders with blood stains on some parts of his body”.
The divisional commander added that further inspection at the store revealed that only the security bulbs in front of it were removed and taken away adding “nothing was however stolen from the shop”.
However, he indicated that some marks on the metal gates of the shop suggested that there was an attempt by the assailants to break the doors with a sharp implement but they could not.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased had been taken to a district government hospital at Saltpond for preservation and autopsy while efforts are underway to get the perpetrators of the crime identified and arrested.
