Confirming this to Silver FM’s Akwadaa Nyame, the Assembly Member of Asokwa electoral area, Joseph Okyere said, the two buildings were last year declared as danger zone by the officials of the national Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and ordered the owners to raze them down.
However, according to him the owners have since not adhered to the orders of the city authorities and have refused to evacuate.

He disclosed that the owners of the buildings became aggrieved when posted on the buildings with inscription ‘Danger, Keep off weak buildings.’
However, Kwabena Nsenkyere who is the Regional NADMO director told Nana Ampratwum, host of "Omanbapa" program on Silver FM that, they have conducted structural integrity tests on buildings within the region to identify and demolish any building that pose a threat.
“We have conducted structural integrity tests so we have ordered the owners of the said buildings to evacuate but have refused to abide by the law, so we will give them a remind notice after which we will take a decision if they failed to follow to our instructions,” he said.
