A self-styled pastor, Oppong Baafi Derrick, 29, at Atafoa New Site,a suburb of Kumasi has been remanded into prison custody by a Kumasi circuit court presided over by her Honour Comfort K. Tasiame for defiling a four- year old girl.

Nine suspected illegal miners, including a female who entered the Jimira Forest at Nkonteng near Nkawie in the Atwima Mponua district of Ashanti have been arrested by the Nkawie Forestry Commission. They have been handed over to the Nkawie Divisional police for prosecution.

Pedestrians have expressed worry about their  ordeal regarding the use of  the underground footbridge of the Sofoline Interchange to cross to the other side of the road at night, as the facility has become a haven for criminals and lunatics who often attack and rob pedestrians.
