Isaac Mensah, who came on for Obeng in the 70th minute took six minutes to score the only goal of the game. His second in two straight games.
The game produced some brilliant moments from both sides, with the hosts coming close on three occasions in the first half.
Both teams started really slow especially Liberty who were playing at their own grounds with the two not opening up for each other neither do they stay too long upfield just to make sure they don't conceded an early goal.
Hearts of Oak despite struggling to find their rhythm were still the dominant side in the first half dictating the movement of the game but made no any meaningful incursions at goal.
Hearts of Oak's Richard Attah made some beautiful saves as goalkeeper Kofi Baah also made some stops for the soccer lads.
Raddy Ovouka sent a powerful drive at goal in the 68th minute for Hearts but unfortunately hit the liberty cross bar.
The win for Hearts will boost the club positively as they eye a climb back into the top six on the log ahead of their superclash encounter against perennial rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday 28 March 2021.
