Ghanaian boxer Patrick Allotey has been granted a GHC 100k bail after appearing in court today.

Allotey pleaded not guilty to charges of causing harm after beating a co-spectator following a brief misunderstanding during the Accra Hearts of Oak versus Asante Kotoko Premier League fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium on January 28.

Allotey on the said date was seen in a video that went rival, punching a football fan Eric Siaw, resulting in a deep cut on his left eye.  

The court has also seized his passport.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has banned him for six months as a result of misconduct after facing the Disciplinary Committee last Wednesday.

In a viral video, Patrick Allotey is seen in a range mood as he engages in a tassel with a fan wielding an Asante Kotoko flag.

While it is unknown what heightened the anger of the boxer, he ended up giving the supporter punches to his face, leaving him to fall to the ground.

The supporter after the incident was left with a deep cut above his left eye and had to get stitched for it.

Patrick Allotey arrested

Famous Ghanaian boxer Patrick Allotey has been arrested by the police for assaulting a Kotoko fan during the Kotoko-Hearts clash match on Sunday.

Patrick Allotey was arrested  after a warrant was issued for his immediate arrest.

Patrick Allotey on Sunday assaulted a Kotoko fan who was jubilating when his team scored the first goal. Patrick got infuriated and gave him some punches on grounds that, the Kotoko fan was blocking his view. This punches from Patrick gave the victim identified as Siaw a cut on the left side of his eye. Patrick Allotey has since been in hiding after the incident.

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has banned World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa Super Welterweight Champion, Patrick Allotey for six months.

His ban follows his recent conduct at the Accra Sports Stadium, during the sixth-week league game between Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko on January 28.

Boxer Apologizes

Former WBO Africa Super Welterweight champion Patrick Allotey rendered an unqualified apology to Asante Kotoko fan, Michael Siaw after he assaulted the latter on Sunday.

The Ghanaian boxer exhibited unprofessional behaviour on Sunday afternoon when he beat up a Michael Siaw during the Super Clash between Hearts of Oak and Kotoko on matchday 6 of the ongoing 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season at Accra Sports Stadium.

Allotey to appeal ban

Patrick Allotey's manager Godwin Jingle has disclosed that they will appeal the decision of the Ghana Boxing Authority.

The GBA yesterday banned the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa Super Welterweight Champion, Patrick Allotey for six months.

His ban follows his recent conduct at the Accra Sports Stadium, during the sixth-week league game between Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko on January 28 which brought the image of the sport into disrepute.
