The former president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Bice Osei-Kuffour, popularly known as Obour has lost the New Patriotic Party's parliamentary primaries in Asante Akim South.

The musician turned politician lost the election to the incumbent MP for the constituency, Kwaku Asante Boateng.

Obour is an alumnus of the University of Ghana, the US International Visitor Leadership Programme, Aspen Global Leadership Network, and African Leadership Initiative of West Africa.

The New Patriotic Party(NPP) had its long-standing parliamentary primaries for the 168 constituencies where it has sitting Members of Parliament (MPs) last Saturday June 20, 2020.

A total of 374 aspirants are contesting in the 168 constituencies; of which 325 are men and 51 are women.

Some 67 constituencies had candidates going unopposed with 101 constituencies having open contests.
