Apparently, the Gospel singer died in the early hours of April 24 at the Emergency Centre of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he was admitted after short illness.
He was missing from the music scene for a while due to ill-health but bounced back in 2017. In June that year, he disclosed in an interview that he had been battling diabetes. He further revealed he went blind for three days but never mentioned it to his relatives.
A close relative of the singer ,Kwame Wiafe who spoke to SilverFM said;
''He was stricken with a short illness last Friday after returning from his routine medical trip abroad...I met him very strong and kicking on the Monday of last week''.
''I had a distress call that Friday from a neighbour at prophet's residence that I should come urgently since the singer is not feeling well...the neighbour later called to tell me to meet them at Emergency Centre at KATH since he was feeling dizzy''
''When I got to the hospital the singer was admitted with a mild stroke on the left hand and he could hardly talk for almost a week now until his demise''
Seth Frimpong, 51, had plans to compete in the National Dance competition in 1988 but did not materialize. He hence announced his presence in the music scene in 2000 when he released his first album, 'Ade A Nyame Aka'. 'Enkosi Aga' followed in 2002 while 'Mehuri So', his third album was released in 2004.
Prophet Seth Frimpong is popularly known for hit songs like ‘This is just the beginning’ ‘Nyame Anuonyam’ and many others was missing in the music scene until news broke about him in 2017 that he was bedridden.
He later released a remix of his popular song ‘Adansidie’ which features Bro Sammy and Emelia Brobbey.
According to the relative, the sensational gospel singer who hails from Asante Mampong left behind a boy and a new wife who is reportedly in Germany.
