Hon. Muntaka alleged that a Justice of the Supreme Court tried to bribe a National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) to influence her in the election of a Speaker of Parliament. This allegation by the MP has been classified as an indictment on the Supreme Court Justices.
Mubarak Muntaka after a sober reflection has apologized for his remarks and any harm done to the image and reputation of the Lord Justices of the Supreme Court and members of the Judiciary.
Mrs Lydia Alhassan, MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon who spoke to SilverFM waded into the discussion and appealed to the Judiciary to accept the apology and retraction of her colleague on the other side of in Parliament.
''We can all make mistakes as human and not everyone can opt out to accept mistakes made.... so if he has realized his actions and retracted such comments, I think that we should accept his apology and forgive him''
