When SilverNEWS reached Mercy Ofosu Mensah to establish the campaign team’s rationale to get the money and the items back, she said that, “Dr. Appiah –Kubi is blaming us (campaign team) for his defeat because he thinks we did not give the money and the items to the delegates and the executives, hence his defeat.” She added that the Dr. Appiah- Kubi gave the team his blessing to reclaim the money and the items but was taken aback to hear him on radio denying knowledge of their actions.
Mercy Ofosu Mensah also confirmed to Nana Ampratwum on SilverFM's Omanbapa Show of receiving some of the money from the delegates and party executives but failed to disclose the amount. “Yes we managed to collect monies from some of them whiles others have also promised to go to the Bank tomorrow to withdraw the deposited cash for us,” she indicated.

''Before I could ask them about their mission, they told Dr. Appiah- Kubi had sent them to collect back his money they money I took from him to vote for him. I told them I have deposited the money at the bank and they threatened to curse me with river gods and some deities if I fail to refund the money''.
One Samson Boadi, a resident at Akyeremade told SilverNEWS, how some residents of the community fiercely resisted the campaign team of the losing incumbent NPP MP for the area. “The campaign team of Dr. Appiah- Kubi tried to forcibly collect money from one Georgina Serwaa, the Woman’s Organizer of Akyeremade, but her son and some neighbours fought them”, he added
When silverNEWS spoke to Dr. Appiah Kubi to ascertain the truth, he denied any knowledge of the actions taken by his campaign team, saying, “I have not sent anybody out to take back any money, or items from the delegates and the party executives.”He disclosed he had not stepped out and asked those taking back monies from the delegates to stop.
Meanwhile, when speaking on a local radio station in Kumasi, Dr. Appiah-Kubi confirmed giving the delegates and the executives money as their transportation fees.
“I have not instructed Mercy to go to the houses of the delegates and the executives to reclaim the money. I gave to them as their transportation fees,” he said.
