He further sounded a word of caution to the NPP caucus in parliament that it is imperative that they vote for these nominees to prevent a repeat what happened on the early hours of January 7 when Rt Hon. Alban S.K. Bagbin won the speakership.
“These nominees were appointed by the President, who is the leader of the party. Voting against them would imply going against the President himself.” He cautioned.
He also stated that Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson deserves to be approved because of her good works in her previous portfolio as Minister of Special Development Initiative, from which even some NDC MPs benefitted from.
He also stated that it is his belief that Ghanaians are now wiser than before and that no person will put down his life on behalf of a political party or a politician.
His comment was in reaction to the recent revelation that government has reached an agreement with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to do everything possible to maintain the stability enjoyed in the country ahead of the pronouncement of the verdict in the ongoing 2020 election petition hearing.
