Two-time National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) Champions, Opoku Ware School registered a big win over Accra Academy, who defeated last year winners St Augustine’s College, and Boa Amponsem for a spot in the finals of this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).

The “Akatakyie” boys took their chances as Richard Kyei Marfo and Noble Asamoah displayed their wits in each round of the first semi-final contest to subdue their contending schools.

At the end of the contest, Opoku Ware School cemented their place at this year’s Grand Finale with 55 points to set a fierce battle with five-time NSMQ Champions – Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School, Legon and Adisadel College (2016 NSMQ Champions).

Relatively, a close second semi-final contest saw Adisadel College eke a 21 point lead after 5 rounds of intense contest.

The last Semifinal Stage contest of the 2020 edition of the NSMQ saw Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School, Legon walk over Kumasi Academy and Aburi Presby SHTS to secure their place at this year’s Grand Finale with 66 points.
