The Authority is expected to issue about 16.7 million cards to qualified Ghanaians by the end of the mass registration and mop-up exercises in all the 16 regions by September 4, this year.
Some distribution centers in the Ashanti Region complain they have a lot of these completed Ghana cards at their disposal awaiting identification and collection by registrants,who spent sleepless night to take part in the exercise .
Mr Saeed Mohammed,an official of National Identification Authority (NIA) at a registration center in Abrepo,in Bantama Constituency reveals there are still some 300 cards at their disposal at collection center after the mob up exercise.
Speaking to Nana Ampratwum on Silver FM's breakfast show dubbed Omanbapa SHOW indicated that officials at the Abrepo registration and distribution center have made several phone calls to registrants for identification and collection of completed Ghana cards but to no avail.
He appealed to applicants who have not received their cards to come for them for any rectification to be done before 15th of August 2020.
