According the President his government will ensure the December 7th Presidential and Parliamentary elections are conducted in a free, fair, transparent, and peaceful manner.
President Akufo-Addo gave the assurance when he met the Paramount Chief of the Ziavi Traditional Area, Togbe Kwaku Ayim, and members of the Ziavi Traditional Council, in the Volta Region at the Jubilee House in Accra.
''I want to assure you that, the government will do whatever it takes to ensure that the forthcoming campaign and elections are conducted in a good atmosphere in the country. Ghana is today, the beacon of democracy on the African continent. This year, I am determined to do whatever I can to consolidate that reputation of a country of peace and stability. The election will be conducted under a good atmosphere and the results accepted by all and sundry -winners and losers alike. We are committed to ensuring a free fair election.”
The traditional leaders commended President Akufo-Addo for his commitment to developing every part of the country, and urge all stakeholders to ensure a peaceful election, during and after 7th December 2020.
They implored government’s support to increase the production of a local coffee called “Ziavi Tutui” in their traditional area.
President Akufo-Addo also pledged to ensure that the problem on the road condition in their area got the attention of the Ministry of Roads and Highways for the necessary action to be taken.
