Clad in a red armed band and holding placards with inscription such as 'Original place is the best' 'Where is the park' 'Where are the roads', 'Mamponten deserves better', '12 acre is better than 1 acre', 'The uncompleted market has become a hub for criminals', '75,000 vote for Nana but.....'and many more.
They therefore petitioned the Chief of Mamponten, Nana Saasi Ayeboafo II and his elders to immediately intervene or they advice themselves.
About a month ago, the Member of Parliament for Kwabre East Constituency and a board Chair for National Youth Authority Hon Francisca Oteng Mensah cut sod for the construction of artificial turf at Mamponteng to nurture the football talents in the Constituency.
''As concerned youth of this Community we are not happy about what the authorities are bringing about....Just recently we received the good news from our MP Francisca Oteng for construction of a youth center and an artificial football turf by the government but to our surprise we saw works going on at a different location,a school park of about 1acre ''
''We approached them and they told us that they prefer this small place to the old location of about 12acres''
''And so we cannot agree to this re-engineering''
Receiving the petition, the Chief of Mamponteng, Nana Saasi Ayeboafo II revealed that he was shocked at seeing the project diverted from the earlier place he and his elders gave for the construction as he knew nothing about that move.
''Our MP came to me with some elders requesting some 12acres of land for construction of an Astro turf football pitch for Kwabre East''
''They brought their project plan and proceeded with sod cutting to commence the project but barely a week the MCE and one Evans came back to me that they need to fix a bridge and electricity at the location''
''I then paid a contractor for construction of a bridge and works for electricity in the community to improve the living conditions of my people''
''So when they proposed to relocate the project to a 1acre land, I vehemently rejected''
