The Director General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, early this month disclosed that Ghana is ready to make an assessment on ‘Covid-Organics’- the purported COVID-19 herbal cure from Madagascar.
CEO of Medimafo Herbal Clinic at Abuakwa- Agogo in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Adu Gyamfi has commended the government, the Ghana Health Service and the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) for finally accepting the trial of herbal medicine in Ghana of which he's very optimistic is going to be our savior in the covid-19 fight.
He however made a humble appeal to the GMA, GHS to come out with clean results when Madagascar's herbal product is made available the them through collaboration with the Food and Drugs Authority to ascertain its potency.
"Whenever these health officials hear of indigenous medicines they often do not want to endorse it''
''They should recommend our works and shun the claims that herbal medicine is not good''.
''Let the public trust herbal remedies which are making strides especially in these trying times when there are no cure" he opined.
He also advised Ghanaians to have faith in the herbal treatment.
Relatively, health professional in charge of the Adwenpa Herbal Clinic at Fumesua, Dr. Oppong Nsia commended the government for such a wonderful move,expressing however very optimistic that outcome will yield a fruitful results for Ghanaians to enjoy.
He explained that some herbal medicine on trial have been successfully gone through the first stage at Mampong of which he is optimistic that Ghanaians and the rest of world would appreciate,should the authorities declare it as potent for covid-19 cure.
