Chief of Mamponteng in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti region, Nana Saase Ayeboafo II has charged the government to ignore the pressure from some Ghanaians to lift the ban on schools.

He says it will be more catastrophic if the government dares to lift the ban on schools in the country so soon.

According to the Mamponteng Hene, Barima Saase Ayeboafo II, most school pupils are not too enlightened to observe the necessary protocols, especially at the basic level, hence schools remain locked until the right time.

He disclosed this to Silver News during a fumigation exercise to all basic schools at Mamponteng.

“I will urge the government to extend this ongoing fumigation exercise to all the basic schools before they are re-opened so that the pupils do not go and contact the virus.” Barima Saase Ayeboafo II pleaded.

Mrs. Stella Ofori who is the Kwabre East Municipal Director of Education also told Silver News that they are ready to adhere to all the measures when the ban is lifted.
