However, police says the whereabouts of the victim, Georgina Ama Amenyo, 20, third –year JHS student cannot be traced at the time of filing this story.
Suspect, Joseph Pra is believed to be detaining the victim who left home at Anamase, near Achiase in the eastern Region on January 12, according to police.
Briefing the media, the Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh said, the mother of the victim, Esther Brady, was able to trace the victim’s boyfriend, Joseph Pra, a JHS2 student, to Akim Manso.
Pra is believed to have told the police upon his arrest that he accommodated the victim for a day and claimed he later saw her off the next day, according to a police source.
According to the police, the suspect denied knowledge of the whereabouts of Georgina and continuously insisted that he saw her off.
However, the police, upon a thorough search in the suspect’s room, found Georgina’s brassier, cover cloth and pair of shoes.
The suspect has since been remanded by the Akim Swedru Circuit Court to reappear on 11th February, 2019.
