The young man studied Chemistry at KNUST and made an incredible shift into Data Analytics, with both fields of experience contributing to his huge success.

The young man graduated from the Ghanaian university in 2018 with a baccalaureate in Chemistry after which he landed an enormous role, immediately after his national service.

Kankam has been recruited as a Senior Data Analyst for AstraZeneca, a British-Swedish company that’s one among the highest 10 pharmaceutical companies within the whole world where biologics manufacturing takes place.

Kankam’s company has the only aim to prioritize the requirements of patients and continually developing cutting-edge drugs to combat health issues in reference to our therapeutic areas.

Speaking about his huge appointment and therefore the transition from a graduate in Chemistry to an expert in Data Analytics, Kankam narrated how the 2 came together.

“Though I trained as a chemist, my new role is more non-traditional, it’s little to no chemistry at play. However, my knowledge in chemistry was a feather in my cup during my interview,” he said.

“The company was trying to find a candidate expertly in Data Analytics which I had. Albeit, my prior knowledge in chemistry made them kill two birds with one stone” Kankam added.

According to the successful young man, some extent came when he wondered whether the Chemistry degree he had was an entire waste when he started learning Data Analytics.

However, Kwasi Kankam mentions that his new role has taught him that knowledge is really never wasted because it was all worthwhile within the end.
