Mr. Owusu Ankomah tested positive for the deadly virus on Friday, April 10, 2020 and has been sent to the Intensive Care Unit in an undisclosed hospital in London , where he is responding to treatment, according to a report by 3news.com.
He was appointed Head of Ghana’s Mission in the UK and Ireland since June 2017 is however, said to be responding to treatment.
As of 10 April 2020, a total of 27,346 persons have been tested with 408 being positive for COVID-19.
The breakdown of the 408 positive cases are as follows: four (4) have been treated, discharged and have tested negative, 394 cases have been categorised as mild disease on treatment, two (2) moderate to severe cases, none currently on ventilators and eight (8) have died.
Meanwhile President Akufo Addo has announced a one week extension of the partial lockdown of Accra and Kumasi.
The President,after several consultations with medical authorities,made this known in his 6th address to the nation on updates to Ghana's enhanced response to the Coronavirus pandemic, on the night of Thursday 9th April 2020.
