The bad nature of roads in the Wadie-Dumakase in the Kwabre East municipality of the Ashanti  is hampering quality healthcare delivery to the people in the area.

According to the residents, the nature of the road is making it difficult to promptly respond to emergency cases, resulting in many preventable deaths.

Speaking to Silver FM's Akwadaa Nyame, they  indicated that there is an urgent need to rehabilitate the road linking the only referral facility at Mamponteng and Aboaso hospital all in  the Kwabre East municipality.

They  said fixing the road would allow for smooth transportation of patients especially pregnant women.
It is therefore important the government acted quickly to improve the road network and provided other ancillary facilities to assure the people to access quality healthcare services.

The Assembly member in the area Hon Ebenezer Anim  Sarkodie then called for  the upgrading of their school   library  into health center to serve as first aid health facility.

He then urge the residents to  exercise restraints since the assembly is doing it best to fixed the road very soon.

According to him, the road was constructed nine years ago in the previous government (NDC) so they cannot blame the deplorable state of  the road on the current Member of Parliament.

''The contract was given to a local contractor during NDC regime  but the authorities who supposed to monitor  the project did not act well which leads to such poor work."

He added that, they have send a petition to the  Assembly where the necessary procedures are being taken into consideration for the road to be rehabilitated.

''Myself and Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah, who is the  MP in the area have visited to the Feeder Roads  and have revealed that the road have been completed.
