The new chief believe to be in his 50s is a Chartered Accountant by profession and a managing partner of John Allotey and Associates.
He succeeds the late Barima Okokyeabuor Adu Gyamfi Poku II, who died about 13 years ago.
His nomination, endorsement and final installation, which was unanimously approved by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the entire King makers after careful analysis, is considered one of the most peaceful chieftaincy ceremonies held in recent times in the area.
The chief linguist of Asantehene, Nana Amoateng who performed the traditional rites before the chief was outdoored, rallied the chiefs and people to cooperate and give strong support to the Omanhene as he rolled out his development agenda for the area.
“The excitement over here demonstrate that Asantehene has given you the legitimate chief you all wished for and I hope you would translate your happiness here today to support your new chief to bring major development to the community,” he said.
He also called on opposing side to overcome their differences and work together to make things better.
Speaking to Daily Guide, a daughter of the late Omanhene, Barima Okokyeabuor Adu Gyamfi Poku II, Nana Ama Serwaa Brehene noted that the meaningful development could take place when the entire community unite and support the new chief.
She therefore, urged the new chief to bring his knowledge on board to unite all the families and the entire community to fast-track development in the area, especially in education.
“I believe in my brother. He has infrastructural development for Kuntanase and other communities at heart and I know he is going to bring a lot of major development to the area. He is going to support the youth in terms of education and those who want to learn other professions would not be left out,” she disclosed.
