Ghana has recorded 6 cases in less than a week. The coronavirus pandemic has killed over 6,000 people out of nearly 170,000 cases globally.
A presser by the Information minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah announced.
The authorities have described all six of Ghana’s cases as imported because all infected individuals had traveled to either Europe or the USA over the past two weeks.
Health measures which have been publicised to avoid the spread of the coronavirus include frequent washing of hands with soap or usage of sanitizers to kill germs and the virus upon contact. This has subsequently increased the demand for the sanitizers.
Some Ghanaian pharmacist and shop owners of these items have been speaking to SilverNEWS.
''The situation has affected our businesses .... sanitizers, face masks and other protective items which were sold at GHC 8 or GHC 10 are now been sold at GHC 100 per pack''
''We appeal to the government to supply the citizenry with these items''
''Countries like Italy,China,USA and Spain who have sophisticated equipment to fight this virus are even finding it difficult in tackling it and so we should adopt personal hygiene procedures''
